Book Review – “Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere”

As a new member of the Parragon Book Buddy Club I was delighted to receive our first book in September suitable for Matthew’s age group. He is now 3 years of age and it makes it so enjoyable reading to him even more as he sits quietly beside me listens and points at the pages.

As we are slowly approaching Halloween (28 days left YAY!), we received a Halloween themed book about pumpkins.

It’s more pictures than writing really which I like because I find when I read long pages to Matthew he doesn’t seem to be too interested in it. He rather likes looking at the pictures and have a little text in it. So this book was perfect for him and we actually read it every night to him. Reason being is because I have never really talked to him about Halloween. With this book I’d like him to understand, what Halloween is about.

The book is about a group of kids who dressed up for Halloween and are on their way to a pumpkin parade. “Pumpkin is sad, pumpkin is happy…” “Pumpkin cat, Pumpkin bat”

Matthew specifically likes the child dressed up as a ghost. I am not sure why but it might because he stands out in his white sheet.

If you are looking for a Halloween themed story that has not too much text and you are enjoying more explaining the pictures to your toddler, then this book is definitely for you.
I am really looking forward to more cool books like this one over the next coming months.

I love how big and bright the pictures are! I think words are useful to help teach kids to read and recognize them, but it’s good to have a mixture and have a few more enjoyable books.

Loved your Review and the book sounds fantastic! Love that it isn’t overly littered with words as the illiustrations speak for them selves and are so vibrantx

It looks like a great book for that age group – I think too much text is pointless really because the pictures are the focus and the illustrations look really nicely done here.
