Kids Safe on the Road with Frog Bikes

Recently I was contacted by the lovely people at Frog Bikes to review some of their bike accessories. This came in very handy because Matthew took the liking of sitting on his Spiderman bike and getting pushed around. He doesn’t get the idea of being able to pedal yet but I don’t think it will be long which means he can then start using the Team Sky Helmet from Frog Bikes and cycle around safe the estate.

Frog Bikes make and sell a range of kids’ bikes, including balance bikes, first pedal bikes, hybrid and road bikes. But what they all have in common is weight: they are all aluminium and are designed specifically with the needs of kids in mind.

The Team Sky helmet is a very comfortable light weight helmet. I actually couldn’t believe how light it was, comparing it to my helmet I had years ago when I was a child. It fits head sizes 46 cm to 53 cm.

Some other key features of this helmet are:
– Adjustable straps
– Easy to use dial for quick helmet adjustment
– Anti-pinch buckle
– Highly reflective strips
– LED light with static and flashing modes
– Anti-insect net

The Team Sky Rucksack is very spacious and fits a lot of things in it. It has a side pocket for your child’s drink/bottle. The front pocket contains a mobile phone holder, key ring and organizer.

The best thing I loved was the reflective rucksack cover. If everyone knows Ireland, then they will also know it rains a lot in this country. This cover is elastic and fits most rucksacks. It has a capacity of 15 to 35 liters. Now that it is getting dark earlier and earlier, the integrated flashing lights come in very handy.

Furthermore every bike requires a light to be seen in the dark. The Mini Hornit has been featured on Dragon’s den in the past. It is a light and a horn at the same time. The wings make it easy to attach the Mini Hornit to any bike or scooter and the bug eyes complete the insect-like look. Each Mini Hornit has 25 sounds to switch between, including a cockerel, a bell, a fire engine, horses’ hooves, a helicopter and a racing car. The 12 lumen lights are both white and green, and have various modes: constant and flashing. It comes with a remote trigger for easy access so you don’t have to take the hands of the handle.

Here’s a little clip of the Frog Bike’s website how it works:

Disclaimer: I was sent these samples for the purpose of the review. As always the opinion is my very own.
