I am a few days late with the Siblings project this month. Simply because we have been on holidays the last week. I thought I would be able to nail it and schedule it in for the Saturday but I was too busy packing and getting everything organised for our trip abroad.
Here we are, half of March has gone in a blur. It only feels like yesterday we have ticked off February. March is really flying by I have to say and we have so many fun times ahead of us. The middle of the month means it’s time for the Siblings project again. A project where I reflect on brother and sister to see how they get on together each month. It is one of my favourite photo projects I like linking up to with many other bloggers out there.
Another month has passed and it’s time again to see how brother and sister have been getting on the last month.
The month of February started off with a celebration. It was Chloe’s second birthday. We had a small party for her at the weekend and had cousin’s over. The weather was on our side and they were playing outside half the time.
The last month was actually very quiet. We have been very lazy and neglected the outside walks a bit. It’s coming close to spring now which means, well I am hoping, the weather will pick up again and we can go and explore the local area. There are a few things on our list. First is probably to find an outdoor playground. We haven’t been to a playground in months.
Above photo was taken in the living room. Matthew wanted the tunnel out to watch some Transformers. He’s obsessed with super hero’s bit particularly Transformers. This is only the cartoon version of it but I think I might have you watched the actual Transformers movies with him. I’m sure he will love it. Chloe was crawling around him watching him, annoying him, crawling into the tube.
I thought this one was adorable. I can’t remember what they were watching at the time but it might have been Mickey Mouse. They had their snacks in a bowl which was grapes and both sat down on the sofa together with the cushion on their knees.
Chloe is copying everything Matthew is doing lately. Including the crying… we definitely need to work on Matthew’s behaviour. He doesn’t listen a lot of times and that applies to creche too. I want him to be the best boy when he enters big school in September. Chloe must be the tidiest girl in her room. She’s so good cleaning up after herself. As soon as she sees me coming to collect, she goes into tidying up mode and only then she wants to leave.
It is the first link up of the year to the Siblings Project. I am so excited to be joining this year again and see brother and sister grow over the next year. This month mummy is turning the big 30. I know when hubby reads this he will have his say on my age. I don’t even feel like 30, neither do I feel like 20 or 25 and I certainly don’t look like 30. For my 30th I am heading to London. I absolutely love traveling and I would have traveled somewhere else but because it is the winter time right now, there is not much point going anywhere else in Europe in the freezing cold.
We have Christmas and New year’s behind us and for me it was back to reality the last two weeks. This meant the kids were back to creche. I would have thought that it is going to be an absolute nightmare to integrate them back into it after being off for two weeks but it was actually a walk in the park. They went in the first day after their holidays no problem. Chloe definitely enjoys creche I have to say. She has her little best friend Ava and they are like best buddies. Just by chance, the other day, I found out that she lives in the same estate as us only a few houses down the road. I don’t think her parents know that though. I’d say it’s time to be introduced.
Just before New Year’s we had Matthew and Chloe’s cousins over from Dublin and Germany. Ten kids in one house. Maniac. I wasn’t there at the time because I had to work but I saw all the photos hubby took. It looks like the kids had great fun especially Matthew. He always goes wild when they come over. Chloe is a bit more attached and doesn’t know what to make of all the people in her house.
Since the new year we have taken it slow and haven’t done anything mad yet. The kids enjoy having a sleep in at the weekend now. As both kids end up in our bed most nights, they started holding hands in their sleep. It is the cutest thing ever. Hubby told me about it a few days ago.
Last weekend we went on a nature trail. Chloe loved seeing all the different trees and animals like ducks, horses and swans. We are trying to do something as a family at least once at the weekend now. There is only so little time because we work during the week and it is nice to do something together as a family in my opinion. We’ve discovered a bowling alley and mini golf center nearby recently that we are going to try out in the next few weekends. I’d say Matthew is definitely going to enjoy that.
Wow only for the fact that I have seen Alex from Bump to Baby post on Instagram about the Siblings project this month, I would have completely forgotten to link up again. This month has flown even quicker than last month. What do you think? I seriously need to invest in some organizer or something. If you know a good one, throw a few names at me.
Looking back on last month sibling projects, it feels like I have taken those photos months ago. I suppose most of them were taken at the end of October but even so, it’s mad. I took loads of photos from the two in the last month. Which leads me to the fact that they are playing more and more together. It’s so nice to see how good they are getting on together as brother and sister (minus the times they kill each other over a toy or book)
We went to see the Coca Cola Christmas truck at the end of last month. While waiting to have our photo taken, daddy and Matthew went off to buy some snacks. They got some buttons. Matthew loves buttons. When he came back and I opened them for him, he started to give Chloe some. He said “Yeah, because Chloe is my best friend”. How cute is that. They shared buttons together, even though each one of them had their own pack. He even put it into her mouth.
We spent a lot of time in the house now that the kids have way more space than they did in the old house. They love cruising around the downstairs area with their bus and airplane chasing each other. A few days ago I picked up a new ride on for Chloe. Really it’s part of her Christmas presents but she gets more fun out of it now instead of waiting another week and a half. We’ve had a Mickey Mouse Ride on for years. Matthew doesn’t care how old he is, he still loves driving around on it. So they don’t kill each other over it, Chloe now has a Minnie Mouse one. His and hers.
Both kids have started using the playroom more as well now. They are sitting together at the table, colouring in, even though that can go wrong sometimes, or on the floor watching Mickey Mouse. Chloe is looking for a good night kiss off Matthew each evening before they go to bed. When Matthew noticed that Chloe was naughty (or bold as he calls it), he doesn’t want to give her a kiss. It’s hilarious. But I persuade him in the end.
Now that we are in the festive season, I bought some Christmas activity and sticker books for the kids. We sat down one afternoon on the rug in the living room to do some activities in the book. Matthew kindly shared his stickers with Chloe in her book, even though they don’t even go into hers.
This is the last post of this years Sibling project. What fun it has been. Thanks to Lucy from Dear Beautiful Boy for creating such a lovely project. It’s nice to look back on the pictures each month and see how their relationship has developed and how different they look now. I can’t wait to start next year again.
