A Clean Dishwasher with Finish + Giveaway

3 weeks ago I was approached by Finish to try out some of their new improved dishwasher products. Of course I agreed, who doesn’t like a few cleaning products as a mum right?

In our household I have been using Finish Powerball Quantum Max tablets for the past year. Before that I used cheap ones from Lidl or similiar. The tablets can be quite expensive but I normally look out for offers in Tesco, Lidl and other stores to keep the costs down. The reason why I am using Finish now is because it has the promised glass protection and keeps glasses shiny. Sometimes I find with cheap tablets you don’t get that.

Here is just an example on a casserole dish. That is based on a dishwasher that has been set to clean the dishes at 50C. Sparkling clean and ready to be used again.

But you want to look after your dishwasher too. If it is not looked after then the dishes won’t look as sparkly as you expect them to. Even if you don’t see it, grease and lime scale builds up on the vital parts of your dishwasher. Why not try out Finish dishwasher cleaner, available in lemon sparkle fragrance.

1409308-aw-packshot-ft-rgb-lrFinish Powerball Quantam Max Tablets (Tab count 18, 30, 45 and 60) are available in regularlemon, apple & lime and power and pure at a cost of €15.65. At the moment they are on sale for just €8. That’s for the 30 pack.

I personally liked the Apple & Lime the best. The smell when you open the dishwasher after a cycle is lovely.

I’ve teamed up with Finish to give my readers the chance to win a few of these products. This includes: Finish Powerball Quantum Max Apple & Lime , Finish Powerball Quantum Max Lemon, Finish Rinse aid lemon sparkle and Finish Dishwasher Cleaner

  1. Sorry i got a bit confused with the question ? you mean people still wash things up by hand! nope not me

  2. We have a dishwasher but I like washing by hand too, it’s the only time I can guarantee 5 minutes peace from the kids! Lol

  3. My dishwasher is always used at the weekend when big meals get cooked it’s not used during the week much

  4. We have 6 adults and 1 infant in our house, so the dishwasher is run at least once a day, sometimes twice depending on what we’ve had to eat. It’s always a tussle last thing at night to see if I can squeeze a few more things into the dishwasher before turning it on. Anything I can’t fit in, I wash by hand as I HATE coming downstairs to dirty dishes! Plus I still do pans, kitchen knives and any delicate items by hand.

  5. I’m guilty of using the dishwasher all the time, hate washing up by hand as it makes my hands go all dry and rough and chips my nail polish!

  6. I wash by hand mostly and save the water for the garden but, whenever we have visitors and at the weekend, I use the dishwasher.

  7. I handwash my sons plastic dishes but put the rest of our dirty dishes in the dishwasher.

  8. Dishwasher is used about 3-4 times a week with a few interim hand washes in between

  9. We use the dishwasher as much as possible and just hand wash those things that aren’t dishwasher safe.

  10. I keep a bowl of washing up water on the go all day for the little things but space is at a premium in our kitchen so most items go straight into the dishwasher to avoid clogging up the sink area.

  11. i use the dishwasher mostly but there are certain things I always wash by hand e,g, my good knives, wine glasses and my Moka 🙂

  12. It varies for me. Sometimes I use it for everything, but then I’ll have times where I prefer to wash up small amounts by hand for a time 🙂

  13. I use the dishwasher as much as possible, and I always try and ensure that it is loaded as well as possible for efficiency!

  14. I much prefer the dishwasher, but still do several things by hand which could get ruined

  15. Our dishwasher recently died – I didn’t think I would miss it, but within a week I was crying for a new one! So much more convenient after cooking with lots of pots and pans!

  16. I used to wash by hand but then was ask to try some dishwasher tablets and now we are using the dishwasher most of the time. Much less hassle although we are running quickly of dishes since it is only 2 of us and takes quite a few days to fill the dishwasher.

  17. I use the dishwasher every day, I set it off before bed and the noise helps me sleep. It’s part of my daily routine and keeps me on top of things – first thing I do in the morning after drinking water is unpack the dishwasher.

  18. We mix it up a bit, wash small things up by hand, leave large things in the dishwasher until it’s full!

  19. The dishwasher mainly – the only things I wash by hand are sharp kitchen knives and baking sheets that are too big for the dishwasher

  20. I have a slimline dishwasher and use it everyday (3 adults) too busy doing other things to stand at the sink washing up – dishwasher does a far better job than I do!

  21. A bit of both, I use the dishwasher for plates, cutlery & glasses but hand wash pots & pans 🙂

  22. I use ours every day but lately it keeps smelling which drives me mad. Keep buying fresheners but quite often I end up washing plates and mugs by hand x

  23. HA! question did make me laugh. Bought a second hand dishwasher for £50 – a sink based one, which worked fine for a few years. On selling our house, we promised to leave it for the new owners. It failed the night before we moved, and the first thing OH wanted was a new dishwasher. So our answer is – OH hates doing the dishes, but at least with a dishwasher, it hides the fact he hasnt done them!

  24. I just got a dishwasher last week! I was sick of washing up. I only had a month of doing it by hand because the dishwasher I had before that wasn’t ours.. finally got ourselves our own one last week and I’m soooooooooooooooooooo happy! Makes life so much easier.

  25. I use my dishwasher all the time. I am too busy and have no time to wash up by hand – for too busy, read too lazy ;o)

  26. I hate washing up. I use the dishwasher at every opportunity. Ours was broke for a few days and it drove me mad having to hand wash everything.

  27. We do use it when things get backed up, but try to get the kids to do when we can as it teaches them xx

  28. We mix it up — mostly we wash the pans and odd bits and pices by hand, and put the rest in the dishwasher.

  29. I don’t actually own a dishwasher currently… Getting one next week though so I’m pretty sure I’ll prefer the dishwasher to hand washing 😉

  30. I use both, if I’ve only got a couple of things that need washing then I do it by hand, if I’ve got a lot then it’s the dishwasher 🙂
