Cow & Gate Friends Pouches

Everyone that knows me, knows that I like keeping the weaning journey as simple as possible. Especially now that I have my hands full with 2 children.

That’s why I was delighted when Cow & Gate got in touch with me to try out their new vegetable pouches. These are the first taste range. There are 4 flavours available: Carrot, broccoli, cauliflower and peas. They are all very natural flavour and taste exactly the way the individual vegetable should taste.
When I weaned Matthew, more than 2 1/2 years ago, these weren’t around then, pouches in general weren’t really on the market, so he was half weaned with jars. They don’t always taste that natural. I am glad these have been released now. It makes life so much easier, especially when I have a 3 year old running around demanding particular food that Chloe can’t eat yet.

Chloe and I are already 2 1/2 months into our weaning journey, which means she is getting double the amount, as to what would be in one of those pouches. I have been mixing them together so she has 2 flavours, or mixing them with other dinners that leak vegetables. It works great and Chloe goes mad for it.

She might not look too impressed here, but she actually loved it. This was a mix of carrot and pea. Do Not heat the pouch in the microwave. Squeeze whatever you need into a bowl and heat in the microwave that way. If you have left overs, they can be kept cool in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Ever since these pouches I have been buying them weekly. We moved onto 6+ months in the meantime and I have also started buying 7+ months to increase the texture for Chloe.
Cow & Gate also has the 10+ months range. Every range always has 4 different flavours.

Even if you are more the person who likes to homecook for their children, I would definitely recommend these for on the go. You can’t go wrong with steam-cooked pouches

*Disclaimer: I was sent the vegetables pouches for the purpose of a review. The photos and opinion are my very own.

They are so handy. Might be expensive but it is worth it. For example, she is not used to the textured food in nursery yet so she is eating this and gradually moving onto the textured stuff.

We like the Cow and Gate pouches too – we used them with Max and will again with Eliza. Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested
