Girls Bedroom Ideas with Homify

I am in such a DIY and decorating mood at the moment that I wanted to share a few more brilliant bedroom ideas with you, but this time for girls. Readers who have been following my blog for quite some time might remember that I created a video last summer to show you what Chloe’s room looks like at the moment. Prior to that it used to be a yellow computer room.

Now I know she only turns one on Monday but I had a little browse for some girls bedroom ideas on this cool home interior website called Homify. I upgraded Matthew’s bedroom only recently from when he was a baby and he is now nearly 3 1/2 years so it was time for a new theme. It means Chloe’s room will be upgraded to something new in maybe 2 years time. It’s always nice to have a browse around already. I mainly look for inspiration on Pinterest because there are so many different websites out there that you don’t know where to start and where to look first. I am so glad I approached this one though. There is a lot of variety and sure to be something for everyone

As you can probably make out in the video I shot of Chloe’s room, it is quite small so there is not much I can do with it space wise or furniture wise. The bed would take up most of the room and the wardrobe which I am thinking of replacing on a daily basis. It’s not as robust as Matthew’s wardrobe and drawer in his room. It annoys me everyday in fact.

Bunk beds are very spacious. It means  you can store other stuff at the bottom of it or even have a little desk and a chair underneath. Another idea would be to have a hide place or reading corner below the bed.

The one above has everything. Even a  bookshelf. I really like that idea but obviously in a more girly design. At the moment her room is cream and pink. But colour theme wise my favourite has to be grey and pink. In a small room like Chloe’s, for me it is very important to have a lot of hidden storage. This can be achieved by placing a few shelves around the room. It gives it a nice touch. Looking at these photos, I really want to get going!

I’d like to have her room a bit similar to Matthew’s bedroom. It means brother and sister are not fighting over who has the best bedroom. There could be a bit of envy or jealousy if Matthew knew Chloe could possibly get a bunk bed, but thankfully not for another 2 years at least.

Do you like decorating your kids bedrooms or do you brighten it up simpler ways?

I have done my sons bedroom recently which I loved because he is 11yrs so it was great to bring in some more grown up styles. My twins have bunk beds and I can store trays of lego under there!

I really like the pink and grey colour scheme in this photo – I think it would stand the test of time quite well as you could switch it out with more grown up accessories later. I’m itching to do a bit of a redesign of my daughters room and would love to do a cabin bed (luckily my husband makes furniture for a living so I can get designing!)
