The Little Man’s Bedroom

Today I’d like to show you Matthew’s bedroom. I designed it when I was 20 weeks pregnant with him. I decided not to change it into a toddler/boys room for a while as Winnie Pooh is loved by everyone at every age.

The above picture shows his current cot bed which was purchased in Mothercare. I went with a very special quote above his bed. “First we had each other, then we had you, now we have everything”. I found this on Ebay. It was so easy to apply.

Above his head is a little picture of him at 6 weeks. We had this photo taken at Pixifoto in Mothercare. It matches all the colors in the room due to the blocks on it which say his name.

I divided the walls into 2 different colors because I thought the room being that small it wouldn’t be a good idea to paint the whole room blue. The paint is separated by a Winnie Pooh border going across the whole room.

I’ve added some Winnie Pooh stickers all over the room including above the changing mat unit. He loves it. He points them out to me every time he is getting changed or getting ready for bed. It is a good way to introduce him to new words, too.

This bedside lamp is the best lamp ever. When It’s dark, the switch on/off button lights up so it is easy to turn on/off even in a dark room. I purchased the lamp in IKEA.

Even though it is a small room, I made the  best out of it but there is still something I would like to add in now that he is bigger but I am not sure what. Would you have any ideas?

Do you have a theme for your little ones bedroom? Do you just use it as a bedroom or is it a place they read books in the corner, too?

We have toys kept in the computer room. As unfortunately his room is too small to actually have more stuff in a corner. One corner has a chair for his clothes and the other one has a basket with his teddys.

It looks lovely, and I do like that lamp. Most of our lamps are from Ikea, too! My kids rooms have toys in, too, and little book areas. Nice to be able to relax in there as well as sleep.
