Mitre Scriball – The Star Wars Edition *Review*

About two weeks ago I published a gift guide for boys who are five and older which included a Star Wars themed football. It’s a football that can be coloured in. Matthew loves football and he loves colouring in. So when we were sent this to review, it hit the nail on the head.

I have actually never realised how popular Mitre is as a football company. Up until a few weeks ago, when Matthew started football training, we didn’t have to look at these kind of things. I don’t play any sports and for daddy it is all about the tennis. You don’t come across it then. I actually went and ordered a proper training ball from Mitre. He will get that from Santa along with two junior goals.

The Scriball set comes with a hand pump to blow up the football and five colouring pens. It was a bit tricky at first to blow up the football but once the needle was moistened, the air went in no problem. I never blew up a football before so I am not exactly an expert at these kind of things. When Matthew saw the football, he wanted to get stuck in straight away.

The pens are very easy to hold for a five year old and even though the ball is round, it was no problem colouring in BB8 and all the other characters. I do take credit for colouring in BB8 though. It actually comes with a stand as well you can use while colouring in so it doesn’t roll away. I think it’s a great idea to have your own customized football.

For Matthew it was not just the fun of colouring in and kick a ball afterwards but it was also the concentration to stay in the lines.

The Star Wars Mitre Scriball is available in many other designs on the official Mitre website for £15.99 but can also be purchased from retail stores like Argos.

Disclaimer: I was sent this product for the purpose of the review. As always this is my own opinion.

He did indeed. He loves his colouring in. Its the only activity where he actually is concentrating.
