Continuing with my gift guide series, it’s now time for some ideas for us mummy’s. I actually found it very hard to pick something for myself this year. There is absolutely nothing I need. As we have moved house a year ago, the only thing I could ever need is practical stuff or home decor. I love decorating all the rooms. Maybe you can spot something yourself in this guide that you might fancy.
If you haven’t come across my latest post already, you are now able to link up all your Christmas Gift Guide related posts to the linky me and AK setup this morning. The linky will be open until 20th December. The idea of it is to give other people ideas for their own kids and it’s so much easier to have it in one place and click from one gift guide to another. The next gift guide from me is for the girls this time.
Continuing on with my Christmas Gift Guide for this year, it’s toddlers today. My little girl is still too small to do a gift guide for girls for that reason I am only going to do a toddler one.
I find it very hard to find something for her to be honest. Apart from cruising around on her ride ons in the house, she is not big into playing with toys. She likes cuddling her teddies and she doesn’t like watching TV. She is yet too small to realise what Santa means anyway. Most of the gifts she will receive, will probably be clothes because she is only 1 1/2 months away from turning two when it’s Christmas which means her clothing size will change from 18-24 months to 2-3 years. Can you imagine, she is only one to two sizes away from her big brother Matthew then.
1 Toddler Bean Bag
As mentioned in a blog post before, I am in the middle of setting up the kids play room. This will include a chill out area which will be in form of a bench with lots of cushions on it. Apart from that, I decided to get them both a bean bag they can sit into when watching TV, reading a book or spending some time on the iPad.

2 Red/Navy Cat Leggings Three Pack
I am still obsessed dressing her in cat outfits. For example this morning she went off to creche with cat socks and a cat jumper which I purchased from H&M the other week. I love these cat leggings from Next which come in a pack of three. You can never have enough leggings.
Available at Next for €18
3 Ochre Cat Print Crew Neck
Another cat clothing item. This jumper will keep herself warm during the winter period. I tend to buy t-shirt like jumpers during the autumn time but in the winter I get the heavy kind of jumpers. I really love the colour on this.
Available at Next for €15.50
4 VTech Toot Toot Animals Cat
We have the Vtech Toot Toot drivers garage and train station. To me a child any age can play with it and never gets bored. You can connect the pieces in so many different ways. Here is another cat obsession. Cat responds to SmartPoint locations with different phrases, sound effects. It comes with 3 sing along songs and 6 lively melodies.
Available in Smyths Toystore for €11.90
5 Peppa Pig’s Flip and Learn Phone
Chloe loves handing me my phone. She loves going “hiya” and pressing buttons on it. I am planning to buy her this Peppa Pig phone because, I know she doesn’t like watching TV, but she does seem to like Peppa a little bit. It probably won’t be as good as mammy’s phone if I know her.
Available at Smyths Toystore for €14.99
6 IKEA Kitchen
I bought Matthew a kitchen two Christmasses ago. It was from Lidl. At the time it was brilliant but now it’s just annoying me if I am honest. Chloe found a liking to play with it now but because it’s plastic kitchen, the oven for example keeps opening itself and the equipment doesn’t look as good anymore. The IKEA kitchen is wood and very robust and hear lots of people saying how good it is. I might buy some of those soft vegetables with it and some pots and pans.
Available at Smyths Toystore for €69
7 Chuckle Ball
Little ones will love this bright and colourful Chuckle Ball. It’s a fun self-rolling motorised ball which makes loads of silly sounds! It’s ideal for pre-schoolers. The Chuckle Ball encourages movement and lots of giggles!
Available at Smyths Toystore for €19.99
Today on the blog I am sharing a gift guide for himself, the man in the house, the dad, the boyfriend. The items you can see above are based on things I am going to buy for my other half for Christmas. Considering he is reading my blog everyday, it means he already knows what he is getting but that’s ok. Some items on this list he asked for anyway. Hopefully this will help you find something for your hubby/fiance/boyfriend.
1 Tonic Shirt And Tie Set
As a manager he needs to be dressed smart pretty much everyday, apart from the weekends of course. And Friday it’s actually casual Friday. I find that men can never have enough shirts. Hubby has all sorts of different colours but in my opinion he has a lack of neutral coloured ones. I like the look of this shirt which comes with the tie and it goes with pretty much every suit.
Available in Next for €38
2 & 6 Textured Suit: Trousers & Jacket
I love the suits you can pick up in Next. In saying that I am surprised I have never bought one for hubby in there. He can be very picky when it comes to suits. He only has one suit and in my opinion, the job he is in, he requires AT LEAST two. I think this one is a lovely colour. I have a thing for navy coloured suits.
Trousers at €48 and Jacket at €103 available in Next
3 Babolat Racket Holder
Since we moved house, hubby is way more into his tennis and goes for a session at least once a week. I am planning to go soon too… eventually. They actually have a dome in this town’s tennis club which means I don’t even have to play outside in the wind and rain. His tennis bag is quite ancient. He deserves a new one. He has two Babolat rackets to store. The coolest feature it comes with is that you can create your own tag so your bag is unique to everybody elses. Simply go to mybabolatbag, com.
Available on http://www.prodirecttennis.com/ for £55
4 Long Sleeve Premium Waffle Grandad
Whenever I ask hubby what he wants for Christmas, all I am getting is “something practical”. Men always need clothes. Most of them hate shopping and for that reason they never have enough clothing in their press even though they tell you they do. You can never have enough jumpers especially in the cold seasons.
Available at Next for €24.50
5 ECCO business shoes
A few weeks ago hubby lost his business shoes… as you do. With the whole move going on and all, we haven’t got a chance yet to pick up a new pair. We will probably purchase these before Christmas but I would highly recommend these. These are the same ones he had before he lost them. Very comfortable and slip on. They are super light and have a flexible sole.
Available on http://shopeu.ecco.com/ie for €120
7 Philips AquaTouch AT887/16 Wet & Dry electric shaver with pop-up trimmer
AquaTouch features an inbuilt seal, AquaTec, which means that the shaver is 100% waterproof and optimised for use with shaving gel or foam for enhanced skin comfort and minimizing skin irritation. The benefit of shaving in the shower is that your pores open, allowing a closer shave, and it’s gentler on your skin too. 3 minute quick charge provides enough power for one shave, so that you are always prepared, even when the battery is empty. An energy-efficient, powerful lithium-ion battery gives you more shaves per charge. Charge it for an hour, and you’ll have up to 45 minutes of shaving time – that’s around 15 shaves.

8 Boss Bottled For Men Eau de Toilette Spray 50ml
A man also needs to smell good. Why not try out the classic Boss Bottled for Men.
Boss Bottled is an oriental fougere fragrance. Its fresh top notes include apple and citrus fruits. In the heart, sweeter, warmer notes of geranium, cinnamon and cloves. In the base notes, dry spicy scents of sandalwood, vetiver, cedarwood, olivewood, amber and musk create a distinctly masculine dry down. Boss Bottled is the encapsulation of Boss in a fragrance.

What are you planning to buy your other half this Christmas?
Disclaimer: I was gifted with a pocket square for the purpose of featuring it in this gift guide.
I think it’s fair to say that we can all mention the C word now which is CHRISTMAS. I love Christmas. There is really a lot of planning going into each year. Buying Christmas pyjamas for the kids is one of the first things on the list that happens. I normally get them from Next but I actually haven’t seen any nice ones yet.
With the beginning of November we all need to start thinking what to get for the kids or other half, grandparents etc. Last year I had a Christmas Gift Guide for everyone covered including the cats. I’d like to do the same this year because it was really popular. With that, I will also start my last years linky again which will be available in a seperate post.
With no further rambling, today I have compiled a list of gifts for boys for you. These are things Matthew asked for but also things I know he will enjoy, too. You might find something your boy would enjoy so I hope this will be of help to some parents/ bloggers out there.
1. Disney Cars Mack Truck Playset
Play out your favourite scenes from the popular Disney Cars films with this action-packed Mack Truck Playset! Mack is not just a Transporter. He proudly carries Lightning McQueen to places far and wide and then parks his mega wheels and opens up to reveal multiple play areas inside, inspired by the films.
I recently reviewed this toy with my boy and he absolutely adores it. You can read more about it here to get a personal opinion on it.
Available in Smyth Toys Superstores for €29.99
2. Fireman Sam Deluxe Firestation Playset
Open up the Fireman Sam Deluxe Firestation Playset to reveal the fire fighters headquarters. Fireman Sam’s fire fighters headquarters includes a kitchen, a utility room and a turn table for Jupiter to be turned and directed out of the opening doors. (Fire engine Jupiter not included) This Fireman Sam Firestation Playset is guaranteed to give your little ones hours of fun. We already have the fire engine and Matthew is big into fires, ambulances and police cars at the moment. So I think this will give him hours of fun.
Available in Smyths Toys Superstores for €42.99
3. Crocodile Dentist
As well as playing on his own, I want Matthew to get involved in family games now that he is four. I can see this game being great fun Christmas morning and we will probably get a lot of laughter when the mouth snaps.
Nimble fingers and quick reflexes are a sure-fire way to avoid the chomp of this toothy croc! Press down on his sore tooth and watch out for his bite! If you get chomped you’re out!
Available in Smyths Toys Superstores for €12.99 at the moment
4. Playmobil City Life Ambulance with Lights and Sound
Playmobil City Life Ambulance with Lights and Sound is the ideal vehicle to get you to the scene of an emergency in a hurry! The injured patient can be carried by stretcher to the ambulance and transported to hospital while being looked after by the professionals with their supply of medical equipment.
As a child I used to play with Playmobil a lot. Matthew recently got into it too. He has gotten many toys from relatives in Germany like a boat and a police car. I have yet to teach him to take care of the small bits but he will learn eventually.
Available in Smyths Toys Superstores for €39.99
5. Bob the Builder™ R/C Super Scoop
The easy-to-use remote control vehicle lets children send Scoop racing forwards or backwards, and also operates his back bucket for cool digging action. But R/C Super Scoop has another trick in store that’s sure to astonish little builders. With the push of a button, Scoop delivers his sensational “Scoop Stand”, an incredible stunt where Scoop uses his back digger to push himself up onto his front bucket, and then lifts his body straight into the air! For even more hands-on play, kids can use Scoop’s exhaust pipe to manually lift his front bucket and activate exciting lights, sounds, and phrases featuring Bob and Scoop.
Available from Smyths Toys Superstores for €68.99
6. Monster Surgery Game
Another game where the whole family can get involved.
With this Monster Surgery Game you must operate carefully, otherwise the monster will shake suddenly! The monster is lying on the operation bed and there are 11 pieces of body parts inside the monster’s body. Players operate carefully using pair of tweezers to pick up the parts from the monster’s body without the monster trembling.
Available from Smyths Toys Superstores for €9.99
7. Blaze Monster Dome
We have a big Blaze fan in our house and now that the kids have an actual play room and we don’t step on all the toys in the living room anymore, I might actually consider getting this race track for him.
It’s Race Day at the Monster Dome and crafty Crusher will stop at nothing to beat Blaze… even if that means building a chomping Sharkbot! Will Blaze race past the shark’s mighty bite and speed on to win the race or will Crusher finally cross the finish line first? This track set can be configured into multiple layouts so race fans can recreate all the action and adventure of Blaze and the Monster Machines™! Using the two launchers, see if you can give the Monster Machines the speed and momentum they need to race around the track and perform spectacular stunts! Try to launch the trucks up the ramp and into a 360° loop or speed through the ring of fire!
