1000 Questions to Myself #14 and #15 Desserts and Dream House

I have a lot of catching up to do on the series “1000 Questions to myself”. However I don’t want to give up. That would be just a failure to me. Plus I like reading back on the questions and my answers as the answers could change over the years.

261. Which subjects to do you like to talk about the most?

Before I had children, it was all about music. Now that I have kids, the talk is all around ABC of parenting and of course blogging. I always like to talk about blogging and mention it to other people. You have to put yourself out there. And then there is the weather… the Irish love talking about it daily and I kind of integrated into that too now after nearly twelve years.

262. Can you easily admit mistakes?

Definitely not, I am trying to talk my way around it and eventually I will admit it. But that can take a while.

263. What do you never want to do again?

There are probably a few things I never want to do again but the one that comes into mind first, is move. We moved into our hopefully forever home almost two years ago. It is said that it is supposed to be the most stressful time after death. And it certainly was. We are very settled now and the kids are happy, too.

264. What is your state of mind usually?

Mostly laid back and cheerful but of course there are times I can be anxious, stressed or tense.

265. Do you always tell the truth?

Most of the time yes. Rarely I don’t because there was a reason behind that.

266. What does music mean to you?

A lot. I don’t listen to music as much as I did years ago. Though concerts are a big part of me. I am aiming for one concert a year at least.

267. Have you ever faked a crying fit?

Never, I couldn’t fake it.

268. Do you prefer working as a team or alone?

I am not gonna lie, I like having people around me but I don’t mind working on my own either. Either way the work gets done but I do find I can concentrate a little bit better on my own.

269. What mistake do you still not forgive yourself?

Nothing comes to mind really.

270. What infatuation do you feel that you don’t understand yourself?

None.

271. Are you thinking hard about life?

Probably too intense sometimes.

272. Do you feel very unsure of some people?

For sure, This is mostly people I don’t know or people I look up to. I’d meet them and wouldn’t know what to talk about. This happened to me at a few blogging events for example.

273. Are you authoritarian?

I don’t think so.

274. Do you like being alone?

Yes, I have no issue with it.

275. Which own interests did you enforce?

It was not really about enforcing my own interests. It was more about stick to my own interest. I give up everything very easily. Hubby can agree to that. I took up table tennis a few years ago because tennis just wasn’t my thing. However I gave that up after a while, too. The only thing I have been sticking too is writing my blog and I would never give it up. It’s like my little diary. I would like to take on another interest though, like swimming maybe.

276. What good cause do you promote?

As my mum died from cancer, I am trying to get involved in a few cancer society’s in Ireland but not too much. The year she died, I ran 5k with a few friends for the Irish Cancer Society. Apart from that, whenever we have clothes or toys to give away, we give it to charity. Our local charity is called Jack & Jill.

277. What does your dream house look like?

The house we live in is pretty much our dream house. Though I would prefer a  garden that is three or four times as back as the one we currently have. I would love our garden to be surrounded by plenty of trees to get some privacy. I guess it’s because I grew up in a house that had a huge back garden and I spent most of my childhood in it.

278. Do you make easy promises?

I can’t promise something that I can’t keep. So, no is the answer.

279. How far are you going for money?

Only as far as I want to. I wouldn’t do crazy things to get lots of money. It wouldn’t be worth it. Money is not always everything.

280. Are you often obstinate, even if it’s to your disadvantage?

Oh yes for sure.

281. Do you often paint the devil on the wall?

Not really no.

282. What do you put off too often?

Things that are very unpleasant.

283 Are animals just as important as humans?

It depends on in which concept. For example I grew up with cats. I can’t imagine living in a house without a cat.

284. Are you aware of yourself?

In most cases yes.

285. What was an unforgettable day for you?

There are two… the day my kids were born.

286. What do you dare not to admit?

There are certain things that come up in discussions with hubby and I would never dare not to admit them.

287. In which movie scene do you have to cry?

To be honest, any emotional movie will get me. Three that come to mind straight away are Cast Away, Titanic and Pearl Harbour. Bawling crying!

288. What good idea did you have last?

Nothing too spectacular but our shed is a bit of a mess at the moment and I am changing everything around and came up with the idea to hang up the tools instead of them lying in the corner. I will also install a shelf soon.

289. What story would you like to share with the world?

There is no important story I have to share with the world right now to be honest.

290. Do you forgive other people easily?

Yes I do.

291. What did you do in a relationship in the past, but you do not do it today?

Being too intrusive. Though I would lie if I say it wasn’t the case with me and hubby in the beginning.

292. What do you hope to never experience again?

The death of a family member.

293. Does the motto “What I do not know does not make me hot” apply to you?

It used to be the case when I was a teenager but it’s just going to get worse if you think about it.

294. How important is the opinion of others in your decisions?

I take them on board and even in some cases I actually change my decision depending on how many people were/were not on my side to make this decision.

295. Are you a past dreamer or a future dreamer?

Both if I am honest. I do think back a lot but I am also always dreaming about what lies ahead for all of us.

296. Do you accept a confrontation easily?

I have no issue with it.

297. In what ways do you differ from your mother?

The question probably should be in what ways are you and your mum alike? I don’t think there is much that differed between me and my mum. We both like traveling, we both worked while having kids. The parenting might be a mix of the same and different I suppose.

298. Where is your favourite place to be?

The beach and sea. I am an Aquarius so what can I say?

299. Are you being considered enough by the opposite sex?

I don’t really pay attention to it. You probably get the odd look and you wonder what they are thinking that minute.

300. What is your favourite dessert?

Oh my god, that is a hard one. I am sucker for sweet things. Baked cheesecake or strawberries with milk.
