A Visit to Paultons Park over the Easter Break

We are finally getting back to normality after our well deserved Easter break in the UK last week. It’s nice to take a break from the blog for almost two weeks but it’s so hard to catch up after being out for so long. As our holiday in the UK last year was so enjoyable, we decided to book it again this year. However this time we were flying over to London and rented a car.

It’s only about an hours flight to London Heathrow. Surprisingly Chloe was super excited to go on the plane. If this was her a year ago, she would be clinging onto me the whole time. She has perked up so much over the last few months. She is not clingy anymore at all which is great. After a slight delay (nearly an hour in fact!) due to a technical fault on the plane, we landed in Heathrow at lunch time and got our car. Hubby upgraded so that we would have a Sat Nav included as well. We got a lovely new Nissan Quashqai, so spacious.

Our first stop was Eastleigh which is just outside of Southampton. We had only an hours drive. We stayed in the Premier Inn for four nights. It was just a fifteen minutes drive from Paultons Park. Last year we stayed in Birmingham and didn’t manage to do much in Peppa Pig World, due to the long drive. I was on watch with the weather and we decided to go to Paultons Park the next day. We were lucky and the weather brightened up as the day went by.

As it was the day after Easter Monday, the Easter Bunny and his friends were still hopping around the park and the park was decorated in places. Matthew went over to him and gave him a hug. I didn’t get to catch that unfortunately though. We wanted to get Peppa Pig World out of the way first so we went to Mr. Potato Head’s Playground. Last year Chloe was in the buggy the whole day and she didn’t want to explore at all. This year was a complete different story. She wanted to try out EVERYTHING. At the time Peppa and George were out to say hello to all their visitors. Chloe was so happy. She adores Peppa.

It must have been raining heavily the night before so the playground was pretty wet. That didn’t stop Matthew from playing in it and crawling into the tubes. Daddy and  Matthew dried off in the indoor play area while me and Chloe set sail on Grandpa Pig’s boat. She was loving it.

Other rides we went on were Grandpa Pig’s little train Gertrude, Daddy Pig’s car ride and Peppa’s big balloon ride. The queues weren’t actually too bad because we were there so early and the weather was mixed. We never waited longer than fifteen.

A quick visit to the Peppa Pig toy shop to pick up a few bits Chloe wanted, including a new beanie Mr Potato Head and Peppa Pig and then it was to head back to the main entrance to refuel. It was lunch time. We ate in the Wild Forest restaurant. I was very impressed with it last time. The variety of food options they have is amazing. I opted for the Chilli Con Carne this time. It was delicious. Once our bellies were filled, we headed toward the Lost Kingdom which we didn’t manage to see last time. There wasn’t actually too much going on for smaller kids other than The Dinosaur Tour. (you can watch this experience in the video I inserted below)

We finished off our day at Paultons Park with a ride on the Rio Grande train which goes around the whole park. On our way out we also stopped at the playground. We bought a little bag of sweets which we all shared together before heading back to the car and off to the hotel to be back for dinner. Everyone had a great day.
