Steenbergs Christmas Hamper *Giveaway*

Oh can you believe it, in just 24 days it’s Christmas Eve. Where has this year gone? I have been thinking about the Christmas food schedule already. Thankfully I am off over the Christmas period this year and not back until the new year which makes things a lot easier. I normally don’t cook every day but over the festive season it’s very important to me.

Recently I was sent a gorgeous hamper from Steenbergs that will definitely help me through the cooking this Christmas. It’s a brand I came across at the Blog On Xmas event in Manchester which took place back in September. Steenbergs Organic is a family-run, friendly firm committed to Fairtrade, the environment and people. It was set up in 2003 by Axel and Sophie Steenberg in North Yorkshire.

What brought my attention to the brand, is actually the fact that they have Mulled Wine spices. And another fact of course and not forget to mention is that they all products being sold are organic. I have mentioned several times in my previous Christmas related posts that Mulled Wine is a big thing in my home country. The best way to have it, is in a glass. It’s generally served at the Christmas market but my mum and I also enjoyed a glass or two at home years ago. It’s so cosy to sit in front of the TV with it and the Christmas tree beside you.

I am planning to make an effort this year and do a bit of baking with the kids. I am actually on the ball with recipes and stuff this year for once. Mainly because I have the Christmas presents wrapped three weeks ago. That’s the thing that takes the longest and the closer it gets to Christmas, the longer it takes to get presents, particularly when they come via courier. There were many delays last year.

The Steenbergs Baking Spice Mix will definitely help me to whisk a few biscuits and Lebkuchen. Lebkuchen is something you either hate or laugh. I grew up with it and couldn’t live without it over the Christmas period. Whereas hubby doesn’t like the taste of it at all.

Something I have heard about but would never associate with food is rose water. I always like to try out new stuff and so this hamper is going to be a great opportunity do so. Rose water can be added to for example ice cream, fruit salad, cakes etc. It’s endless really.  Why not create your own festive drink and experiment a bit with the spiced cider mix or the flavoured organic sugar, availabe as an orange flavour or a mulled wine flavour. I am most excited about the Cranberry and apple stuffing though. I never used to make a stuffing on the side for our Christmas dinner. But the mix of Cranberry and apple sounds delicious. If you follow my Instagram, expect a few photos over the Christmas period making use of all these lovely spices.

I have teamed up with the lovely people at Steenbergs to give you the chance to win this lovely and tasty Jutes Bag hamper, just in time for this Christmas.

The hamper includes the following:

  • Organic Cranberry & Apple Stuffing
  • Four hand tied muslin spice bundles Mulled Wine
  • Four blended sugar and spice sachets for your festive drink
  • Organic Mulled Wine Sugar
  • Organic Orange Sugar
  • Organic Lemon Extract
  • Organic Rose Water
  • Organic Lebkuchen Mix
  • Organic Perfect Salt mix
  • Organic Turkey Seasoning
