Back in time: First Birthday

Matthew’s 3rd birthday is fast approaching and I thought it might be nice to look back on his first and second birthday. There are only 3 days left until my toddler is no longer a toddler anymore and turns into a big boy. Sad isn’t it? They are growing too fast.

I have never actually blogged about his first birthday because I took a break at that time, so it’ll be nice to have a record of this too other than photos sitting in my Dropbox account.

Matthew’s first birthday was kind of a big deal to me. He was big into Mickey mouse back then. Who isn’t at that age.

Clearly he had to have a Mickey mouse themed birthday party. He loved it. Mickey Mouse everywhere.

We didn’t have many people over. There were his godparents, grandparents and us. A nice small little round with not too much action.

Some advertising at this point… I got an icing image done of Mickey mouse that fitted well onto the cake. If you search “edible images” on Facebook you will be able to find the company. I got one done for his 3rd birthday too.

Apart from chocolate cake and cupcakes I also offered the guests sandwiches, grapes with cheese and crisps

Matthew has always been fascinated with lights. When he’s seen the candle on the cake, he definitely couldn’t take his eyes off it.

It was fair to say that he liked the box the best than his actual present which was a smart trike. For his first birthday I had the present situation a bit more under control too I have to say. He got one big present and that was it. Since then I always like to add more and more onto it and he is way too spoiled. I suppose you only turn 2 and 3 only once in life.

I think he just has such a cute face in this photo and I love the fact that he has no hair at all at this age. He is so adorable. Even his sister has more hair at the age of only 6 months.

Please stay connected to check out the next post about Matthew’s second birthday coming up very soon.

Did you have a first birthday themed party? Did you invite many people?

Ahhh I know how you feel mine just turned 2 and 4 recently and it makes us parents get all reflective doesn’t it? It really does go by way way too fast. I can’t believe it. I know my momma said it would but I never imagine she was meaning literally. Adorable first birthday memories. Thank you for linking up to Share With Me #sharewithme
