It’s October and we are close to the October Bank Holiday Weekend. Have you made any plans with your little ones where to spend these extra long days?
Let me give you a suggestion…
We started going on family trips only recently as I got a new family car back in May. This makes traveling so much easier and there is way more room than there was in my VW Polo.
For the bank holiday weekend of this month we decided to go down to Cork for 2 nights. I have actually never been to Cork before (outside of work). So this will hopefully be a nice trip away. The main reason to go there is Fota Wildlife Park. It is supposed to be brilliant. I have only heard good things about it. You could easily spend the whole day there. It is a more open zoo then Dublin zoo would be. For examples you have meerkats running around you. I am really looking forward to this. I hope Matthew will like it too as he just loves animals.
If you live quite a distance from Cork and you don’t want to be too far off the park then your best option is to stay in the Fota Wildlife Resort. It is expensive but it is definitely worth it. It’s a 5 Star hotel. I have to say we got a pretty decent price on 2 nights including breakfast.
