The festive season is truly upon us. Yesterday evening after I got home from a weekend in Belfast I got down the Christmas tree from the attic (which was a wrestle) and decorated it with the new baubles I got in Dunnes Stores the other day. This time I am going with a red/gold theme. We had red/silver for nine…
I don’t know about you but in the last week I totally got into watching Christmas movies. Once the kids are in bed I am sitting down with my blanket, some biscuits and a nice cup of tea and turn on Netflix and browse the Christmas movie section. I admit some of them aren’t great but most of them are.
As you all may know, I am an expat. I moved from Germany to Ireland over twelve years ago. At the time, no intention to even stay in this country. However it all blended into a wonderful story, a story where I met my other half and now we are raising our beautiful children in this country.
Can you believe it, we are just two and a half weeks away from the month of December. This year has flown by. Though I probably say this every year but the year felt so busy even though we weren’t busy every month. Everyone is currently in the middle of present stress I assume. I have only started making a…
Owing a house is everyone’s dream and milestone in life if you wanna call it that. I have been a house owner exactly two years now. Keeping a house in shape for all the years to come is a full time job in itself. I have outlined a few important facts for you, you might want to look out for.
This time last week I was strolling around my hometown in Germany with a friend I used to go to secondary school with. The weeks are just flying by and I only seem to be able to sit down now and write about my adventure. Over a week ago I visited my friend Karo in Germany.
Next month we will be in our new house two years. It has definitely been the quickest two years. It’s been a while since I did a home tour post on the blog. The last one was our kitchen. A house is never finished they say and it’s definitely true. I wanted to show you Chloe’s bedroom for quite a…
The hotel we were staying in on our Staycation in Kerry was so nice, I figured it deserves its own post. We have stayed in many different hotels over the years. As a family of four it is very important to us to have a room with lots of space. Though you are only there to sleep, when you have…
Dear Matthew, this evening we put you to bed as a six year old for the very first time. It has been six years already since you came into this world. We are so happy to have you. Your are a very caring child, mostly in regards to food. If mammy didn’t get to have a taste, you are willing…
This post brings us to our last day of our staycation which was almost two weeks ago. I was a bit unwell over the last few days so wasn’t able to post anything on the blog. County Kerry feels like a different country altogether. It’s so calm and quiet.
Day three of our Kerry adventure brought us to Dingle. A small port town in the South Western part of Ireland. I wanted to visit here for such a long time but the drive from Sligo, back when we still lived there, was five hours and it was just way too far. Thankfully from Tralee it’s only an hour.
For the last month it was rather difficult to find photos that show the two of them together. Only for the fact that we are back from our staycation in Kerry, I would have had only one photo to post. That clearly shows we have not been up too much at all. And that’s probably the truth.
Last week we all ventured off on our staycation in Ireland. County Kerry has been on my list for a long time, particularly Dingle. Thankfully we found a great deal on the official Ballgarry House Hotel website. We had to stay at least three nights to get 15% off of each night. We stayed four nights and so we saved…
Scooters and ride ons are a big hit in our house. It doesn’t matter how old the kids are or if they are in fact too big for it. They love cruising around in the garden or out the front near the big green. They much prefer it to walking for sure.
Oh lovely July…we are at the end of it already and today is the first day of the month in August. In the blink of an eye we have Christmas on the door step. I find once the Summer holidays are over, the year is just flying by even quicker because all the fun has come to end, people have…
I’ll be honest with you, I would be lost without my car. I am just so used to stepping into my car and driving me places, even if it’s only around the corner to the shop to get milk. Owning a car kind of makes me lazy in a way too and so I don’t walk as much.
If you’re like me, then you are probably trying to look up entertainment around the country this Summer holiday to keep the kids busy. It’s a bit more difficult for us, as right now we are still working and so we only get to do stuff as a family at weekends. However in August we are off for two weeks…
It has been a while on the blog hasn’t it? Apologies, this has been probably the longest break I have ever taken. I suppose you can blame the lovely weather. I am never really in the mood to sit down in the evening and right a post. However this one has been on my list for over a week now.
Traveling is one of those things that you either like or don’t like. Traveling all different countries lays within my family. My granddad traveled all over the place He has been to so many places, it’s incredible. The same thing applied to my mum. She started traveling when she was young, too. So I guess you could say I inherited…
What smashing weather we have right now. It’s definitely not just me who has the urge to go outside and go to the beach or just be in this beautiful sunshine. Weather like this makes me just want to go and explore. There are many road trips I still want to do but haven’t got around to it yet.
